The vibrant color palette chosen for "Seeing Red in the Garden" necklace draws your eye in. Red is nicely complemented by the deep forest green and accents of yellow and pink.  It's a mixed media tour de force! Nicely done Beading Yogini!

MAYABS

This is what ABS Editor, Cindy Gimbrone had to say about Cilla's bracelet:

Cilla has chosen a color palette of chocolate browns to deep reds from this month's challenge painting. By choosing the less obvious colors from the painting, Cilla has created a warm, sensuous bracelet enhanced by the copper findings. A lovely interpretation of the monthly challenge painting!

Featured Designer of the Week: Bee Tree By M.E.

Each Monday the Art Bead Scene features the Designer of the Week. One of our editors picks her favorite from the Monthly Challenge entries. This week's featured designer is Bee Tree By M.E.!
Here is what ABS editor, Lynn Davis, had to say about this design:

"If you've looked over the details of the Berthe Morisot impressionist painting titled "Cache-cache" (Hide-and-Seek) that is the Artbeadscene inspiration for the month of May, it's easy to see how this colorful and imaginative necklace was inspired by the images from the painting. The white findings by Shannon Levart and the sweet, wire-wrapped pearls in the center of the green floral design give it that quaint, shabby chic look that's so wearable for springtime, and the dark scarflette tendrils echo the hatbands on the lovely subject in the painting. Wouldn't this be pretty to wear with a spaghetti strap white lace summer dress? Congratulations, M.E., for your unique design inspiration."

Designer of the Week - BeeTree by m.e.

Each Monday the Art Bead Scene features the Designer of the Week. One of our editors picks her favorite from the Monthly Challenge entries. This week's featured designer is Beetreebyme!

Here is what ABS editor, Shannon LeVart had to say about this design;

"What a stunning, fantastical statement necklace! Once again artist m.e. has pieced together a wire and polymer clay creation that pushes the boundary of design. This necklace matches the sweeping movement of the leaves in the Finches and Bamboo piece so well with the curves of the wire I could almost feel the breeze. She pulls the red from the inked chops and adds it to her polymer clay flowers to match the same emotion in the painting. It's amazing!"

Designer of the Week: Shelia Davis

Each Monday the Art Bead Scene features the Designer of the Week. One of our editors picks her favorite from the Monthly Challenge entries. This week's featured designer is Shelia Davis of Stone Designs.

Here is what ABS editor, Heather Powers had to say about this week's design, "I can't get over these gorgeous beads!  I love the raku-like pattern and color.  The addition of the colorful dangles adds some tropical inspired fun.  The accent beads dance around the bracelet and compliment the art beads but don't compete with them.  The lampwork beads shine as the stars in this energetic design."

Featured Designer: Kim Peters of Singing Cat Studio

Each Monday the Art Bead Scene features the Designer of the Week. One of our editors picks her favorite from the Monthly Challenge entries. This week's featured designer is Kim Peters of Singing Cat Studio!

Here is what ABS editor, Erin Prais-Hintz had to say about this week's design:

"Having been a contributor to Art Bead Scene for a number of years before I jumped in as an editor, I can recall the anticipation I would have each week waiting for the Editor's Pick. I was even picked myself once, and it was a thrill!

I am delighted to pass the Designer of the Week baton to Kim Peter's of Singing Cat Studio.

I recently discovered her richly detailed polymer clay pieces and finished jewelry when making the Treasury inspired by this month's painting and fell in love. When I spied this cuff bracelet with its dreamy color palette and beautiful textures, I let out a deep sigh. I love the way this is simply photographed. The choice of the complimentary beads with the facets shaped like the lanterns seem to be filled with light as in the inspiration piece. The addition of the antique brass buttons lends a stylized floral theme to this piece.

This bracelet is a lovely representation of all the beauty found in Sargent's painting. I adore it!"

Featured Designer - Vena Yvonne

Each Monday the Art Bead Scene features the Designer of the Week. One of our editors picks her favorite from the Monthly Challenge entries. This week's featured designer is Vena Yvonne!
Here is what ABS editor, Shannon Levart had to say about this week's design, "Although named an entirely different flower, this magical cuff bracelet contains the same hazy blue as the painting by Sargent. The layers of handcrafted polymer flowers repeats the layers of lilies in the painting and gives the cuff the same garden feel. Even the attached crystals glow with the same light of the lanterns! This is a lovely piece, Vena, I hope to see more of your work submitted to the challenges!"

Here is what ABS editor Heather Powers had to say about Kristi's piece, "I love the energy of this necklace.  The ribbon provides such live to the design, it really reminds me of the brushstrokes of the painting.  I also like the handmade clasp using the ribbon and wire.  The pendant makes a bold statement and balances out the colorful and textural ribbon, wire and beads."

Designer of the Week - Mary Harding

Each Monday the Art Bead Scene features the Designer of the Week. One of our editors picks her favorite from the Monthly Challenge entries. This week's featured designer is Mary Harding.

This is what ABS Editor Heather Powers had to say about Mary's piece: "I choose this piece for the wonderful mix of colors and textures that embody the spirit of the painting.  The mix of chain with the ceramic beads remind of the river running through the colorful landscape. The small piece of ribbon that holds the charms is an interesting focal point.  I also thought it was interesting that Mary and several other participants have used hearts in their designs.  The heart shape mimics some of the curves and angles in the painting, but I wouldn't have picked up on that without seeing it in their jewelry."

Here is the full necklace.  You can see more of Mary's work on her blog and website.
